The Coronation Night of the 63rd Miss Universe will held in Doral-Miami, Florida, with the Philippine representative Miss Mary Jean (MJ) Lastimosa trying to take home the much coveted title last won by the country for the past few decades.
MJ Lastimosa will also try to continue the winning streak of the Philippines as the country became part of the Top 5 consistently for the past few editions of the Miss Universe.
The Philippines has been part of the Top Five (5) with Venus Raj finishing 4th runner-up in 2010, Shamcey Supsup and Ariella Arida clinching 3rd runner-up in 2011 and 2013, and Janine Tugonon almost winning the title as she finished 1st runner-up in 2012 to Miss Universe winner Olivia Culpo.
The country’s bet for the 2014 Miss Universe also known as the Miss Universe 2015 due to some delays, MJ Lastimosa is predicted by major pageant sites to make it to the Top Five and will become the third Filipina Miss Universe in history as she is being dubbed as one of the crowd favorite in the competition.
The 27-year-old beauty’s fate now lies to the panel of judges which comprised some of the world’s most well-known personalities which include Kristin Cavallari, Lisa Vanderpump, Louise Roe, William Levy, and the world’s only eight division world champion and fellow Filipino, Manny Pacquiao.
