Philippines Ranked as 9th Worst in Traffic Worldwide According to Numbeo

The Philippines ranked 9th in the world in terms of negative traffic situation according to recent report released by Numbeo, a research firm launched in 2009 by Serbian software engineer and mathematician Mladen Adamovic. The country is also ranked fourth among Asian countries in the list of worst traffic.

The company Numbeo, compares traffic data from 88 countries worldwide, they released the 2015 statistics on average commuting time, commuting dissatisfaction, traffic inefficiencies and carbon dioxide emissions in commuting.

Based upon the study, the Philippines’ has 202.31 points in the traffic index, ranking it just above neighboring Thailand with 200.79 points out of the score of 1. The former Indian and Pakistani colony, Bangladesh, has the worst traffic in Asia with a score of 280.43. and ranked No. 3 worldwide.

According to the data gathered by Numbeo, the average one-way commuting and traveling time in the Philippines reached 45.50 minutes before workers reach their destination. The long commute in the country also spurs a dissatisfaction rate of 3,724.39 on the index, which assumes that discontent increases exponentially with each minute after one-way commute time is longer than 25 minutes.
