Alaska Defeated San Miguel in Game 1 of the PBA All Filipino Cup Finals (Highlights Video)

The Alaska Aces surprised the San Miguel Beermen fans with it’s tremendous display of “Never say die” attitude during the Game One of the PBA All Filipino Cup Finals as they defeated the well-rested Beermen with a come from behind victory that ends with the final score at 88-82.

Although the never-say-die tag is synonymous to Barangay Ginebra, the Aces proved that their team is also a forced to be reckoned with the same attitude towards playing in the PBA.

The Alaska Aces proved once again that the team is a worthy opponent of San Miguel Beer in the finals of the All Filipino Cup as they put gallant display of basketball courage after they were down during the first quarter scoring only with 5 points compared to San Miguel’s 27 points to end the first period.

According to Alaska head coach Alex Compton was so proud with his players attitude towards winning their first game in the best-of-seven finals series against the toughest team in the league bannered by the reigning MVP and most dominant big man June Mar Fajardo.

Alaska’s veteran wingman Cyrus Baguiao credited Calvin Abueva’s energy as the team’s new character as the former San Sebastian Stags lead the Aces on their comeback win over San Miguel, therefore he was also named as the best player of the game.

Aside from Calvin Abueva, rookie Chis Banchero, veteran Dondon Hontiveros, former Gilas mainstay Sonny Thoss and JV Casio also provided the much-needed points to overcome the San Miguel Beermen.

The comeback victory of Alaska Aces is now considered as one of the biggest comeback win in a PBA finals game in eight years.
