Kapamilya hunk actor Jake Cuenca confirmed that he and his Filipino-Australian girlfriend Chanel Olive Thomas have already broken up after a month they reportedly reconciled.
In an interview with entertainment portal Pep.ph, the former “Ikaw lamang” actor said that they tried to fix their relationship but it did not work out, adding that they are still friends.
“Yun na nga sinabi ko na single ako uli… we tried to fix things up. Pero it’s a good breakup, we’re still friends, so okay naman. We tried, pero hindi nag-work out. “Sa akin naman, ayokong mawala yung friendship naming dalawa,” he said.
Jake Cuenca refused to reveal the reason of their breakup, saying that he wants to keep it personal and what’s important is they remained to be good friends and they are not fighting.
“I think, kung anumang reason na yun, sa amin na yun. Yun naman ang naging okay sa relationship namin, parang naging very personal. “Kung anuman ang naging reason ng breakup namin, I want to keep it personal,” he said.
The 27-year-old actor added that they still have communication and they are not closing the doors on the possibility of reconciling. He also said that they will be focusing on their careers for now.
Meanwhile, Jake Cuenca is now gearing up for the ABS-CBN adaptation of Colombian TV series “Pasion de Amor” with Ejay Falcon, Joseph Marco, Coleen Garcia, Ellen Adarna and the newest kapamilya star Arci Munoz.
