Bagyong Seniang: Storm Signals Raised by PAGASA (December 28)

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) develops into Tropical Depression “Seniang” which is currently located east of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur according to PAGASA. The country’s weather bureau already raised Public Storm Warning Signals in various parts of Mindanao. Based upon the 5:00 AM weather bulletin of PAGASA, Bagyong Senian was last spotted at 340-km East of Hinatuan.

Bagyong Seniang bears a maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and expected to make a landfall on Monday morning in the vicinity of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. The latest weather disturbance to hit the Philippines is expected to move West at 11 kph.

PAGASA forecasts that on Monday, December 29, 2014, Bagyong Seniang will be at 60 km. East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. On Tuesday morning Bagyong Seniang is forecast to be at 120 km East of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte and on Wednesday morning it will be at 170 km West of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.

PAGASA noted that public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin issued by PAGASA.

The Tropical Depression (Bagyong Seniang) is expected to linger inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility for several days, possibly until the New Year’s Day, because of its slow speed.
