Philippine Azkals Starting XI:

During the Leg 1 of the Azkals vs. Thailand, the Philippines was able to hold off the heavy favorites Thailand War Elephants and end the game in a scoreless draw in front of the Philippine home crowd.

According to Azkals head coach Thomas Dooley, he like his wards chances in the tournament but noted that the team has to be on their toes against the prolific Thai scorers supported by a very hostile crowd.

Coach Dooley was quoted as saying “We need to be ready. We need to play the same football we did in Manila. If we can hold [them for] 15-20 [minutes] in Bangkok, I think we have a good chance.” he stated.

There are some unconfirmed reports that the Philippine team received threats prior to the match. We will update this post as soon as we get more details regarding the match up between the Philippines and Thailand.

The winner of the Leg 2 will advanced to the Finals of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 against the winner of the Vietnam and Malaysia match up in Group B.
