Bagyong Ruby Made Landfall in Dolores, Eastern Samar (Typhoon Signals)

The country’s weather bureau,  Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), confirmed that Bagyong Ruby made a landfall at 9:15 PM in Dolores, Eastern Samar on Saturday night, December 6, 2014. PAGASA noted that Bagyong Ruby is expected to make an estimated five landfalls in the provinces of Mindoro and Romblon.

According to PAGASA, the landfall in Eastern Samar was associated with strong winds, heavy to intense rainfall and storm surge as high as 4.5 meters or 14.7 feet. Based upon PAGASA’s update, Bagyong Ruby was packing maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometer per hour and gusts of up to 210 kph, as of 10:00 PM.

Bagyong Ruby was moving west at a speed of 16 kph, PAGASA also hoisted storm warning signals in the areas which will be affected by the weather disturbance.

PAGASA forecasts that Bagyong Ruby is expected to be at 35 km Northeast of Romblon, Romblon, while on Monday morning it is expected to be at 235 km West Northwest of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro and on Tuesday morning it will be at 595 kph West of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
