The Philippine National Football Team, Philippine Azkals started their campaign in the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup hosted by Vietnam in a winning note after they defeated Laos in the Group Stage of the tournament scoring four (4) goals against 1 goal by Laos. After playing a catch up game in the early part of the Azkals vs. Laos match, the Filipinos regained their composure and scored a victory in the AFF Suzuki Cup.

Patrick Reichelt scored a total of two goals for the Philippine Team, his first goal was scored at around 76th minutes while the second goal came at around 89th minutes of the Group Stage matches held at Hanoi.
The Laos National Football Team scored an early goal, courtesy of Khampeng Sayavuth, on their match-up against the Azkals but the Azkals re-grouped and responded with their own version of goals in the AFF Suzuki Cup.
The Azkals vs. Laos AFF Suzuki Cup football match was held at the same venue where the Philippine Azkals started their historic Semi-finals run in the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup, wherein they defeated Southeast Asian powerhouse and depending champion Vietnam.
Aside from the two goals made by Patrick Reichelt, the Azkals also got a goal each from Simone Rota and Phil Younghusband. The Philippine Azkals will then play Indonesia this coming November 25, 2014, before the team will square off with the home team Vietnam this coming November 28, 2014.
