One of the world’s most popular cruise liner, Star Cruises unveiled their latest addition to their growing number of fleets, as the MV SuperStar Aquarius made its maiden voyage to the Philippines’ last frontier, the island of Palawan. The 13-story cruise liner made its maiden port-of-call to Puerto Princesa City, establishing the country as one of the major cruise ship destination.
Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez and the Bureau of Immigration through Commissioner Siegfred Mison, welcomed the guests aboard Star Cruises’ MV SuperStar Aquarius as the huge ship dropped anchor in the Province of Palawan.
The 623-feet Dreamward-class cruise ship, carried over a thousand tourists from various parts of the world with nationalities from Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, China and Hong Kong as well as Filipinos made its inaugural visit in the country for an overnight stay.
In an interview with the reporters, Star Cruises Senior Vice President Michael Go, noted that the company is proud to have Puerto Princesa as among the new destinations for its luxury line with a gross tonnage of 51,309, one of the largest cruise ship by the Star Cruise Liner.
Meanwhile during the arrival of the MV SuperStar Aquarius, Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez urged Star Cruises to have its liners stay longer in Palawan shores on their future trips. He also noted that the Local Government of Palawan will build harbors in the municipalities of Roxas, El Nido, Taytay and Coron to facilitate the influx of tourists in Palawan.
The MV SuperStar Aquarius cruise ship home port is located in Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia.
