Jason James Dy convinced a total of three judges during his blind audition in The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 episode on Saturday as he performed the song “Stay With Me,” to the delight of the audiences and coaches of the country’s top-rating show of the Kapamilya Channel.
The 24-year-old veteran singer made his marked in the competition and joined Team Sarah Geronimo. Jason James Dy hails from Butuan City and worked as a singer for a company that offers serenading services.

James Jason Dy’s version of the song popularized by Sam Smith was applauded by Coaches Apl.de.ap, Sarah Geronimo and Lea Salonga who did not hesitate their appreciation with the singer and gathered together, hugging each other while Jason was singing.
The only coach who did not turn for Jason James Dy was coach Bamboo but he explained that the singer’s performance was great and he was joyful seeing his fellow judges turned for him.
Apl.de.ap on his part was so impressed with the Mindanao-based singer and was quoted as saying “Oh my God, when you hit those falsettos, it was over. You just took over the competition,” Apl.de.ap said.
Coach Lea Salonga also noted that Sam Smith is one of her favorite singer and she thought she was going to have a heart attack while on his chair upon hearing the version of Jason James Dy.
The winning coach who convinced the singer, coach Sarah Geronimo was quoted as saying “Sobra kaming bilib na bilib sa’yo, kasi hindi mo kinailangang lakasan ‘yung boses mo, o bumirit para sa amin. ‘Yung strength mo, para sa akin, is ‘yung falsetto mo, ang linis linis, na ang sarap sarap sa puso naming pakinggan,” Geronimo said.
In the end of the Jason James Dy’s performance he decided to choose Team Sarah, joining Kokoi Baldo, Daniel Ombao, Demie Fresco, Vanessa Monot and Monique Lualhati.
