Why Jeron Teng Turned Down Acting Offers

De Lasalle University’s basketball star player Jeron Teng shares his reasons why he turned down some acting offers and why he choose not pursue a career in show business.

In an interview with “Tapatan Ni Tunying” aired on Thursday, the Green Archer, who is currently taking up a double degree in business management and behavioral sciences, said that he has to prioritize his studies.

“May mga offers na mag-try ako mag-acting pero siyempre, alam ko ‘yung priorities ko. Alam kong may commitment ako sa school. Kaya may iba tinatanggihan talaga namin dahil alam ko kung ano ‘yung uunahin ko,” he said.

Jeron Teng also added that he wants to focus on his basketball career, noting that he wanted to make it on the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

“Sa La Salle, gusto ko lang magbigay nang as much championship as I can. Individually, gusto ko lang mag-improve for me to reach the next level –‘yung PBA,” he said.

The 20-year-old basketball player has already made several guest appearances on television. He also had a brief role in the defunct top-rating primetime series “Got To Believe,” which was headlined by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Benjie Paras, a former basketball player, was also part of the cast.

During the interview, Jeron Teng was made also to explain about his relationship status with young actress Jane Oineza, who was romantically linked to him. According to him, they are just friends but they have constant communication.
