Veteran comedienne Tia Pusit or Myrna Villanueva in real life died on Thursday night, October 2, 2014 at the age of 66, after she underwent a double bypass surgery. The confirmation of Tia Pusit’s death was released to the media by Tia Pusit’s sister, Nova Villa. According to Nova Villa, Tia Pusit passed away at around 11:30 PM at the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City.
For the past months, the comedienne underwent surgery, she survived by her four children. Tia Pusit made headlines earlier when she was set to marry her 27-year-old boyfriend Nathan Villa but eventually they got separated.
According to Nova Villa, during an interview wit ABS-CBN, she noted that Tia Pusit endured a host of medical complications, including brain hemorrhage, since her operation last September 9, 2014. The comedienne was treated in the hospital since April, she was battling kidney failure and aortic aneurysm.
Nova Villa also noted that the funeral engagement for the comedienne are still being finalized by their family. Some of Tia Pusit’s closest family and friends were helping the comedienne in shouldering her expenses in the hospital.
Tia Pusit became one of the most popular comedienne in Philippine cinemas for the past few decades, and she was last seen in the top-rating series “Ikaw Lamang” as Kim Chiu’s nanny and confidante.
