Hours after Smart Communications announced their free but not unlimited internet service for Smart subscribers, Globe Telecom announced that it will be bringing back their free Facebook access starting next week.
Globe announced it through their official Facebook page. According to the post, “Free Facebook is back. Starting next week. Like.” But then, after it, additional or any other information regarding this were not posted. In other words, no additional information are available.
This is Globe’s post on Facebook.
Globe’s free Facebook service allows the users to access Facebook without date charges. This was launched last October 2013 and lasted for several months.
Based on the official statement released by Globe, they were happy for the fact that their competitors have chosen to follow the lead they have set on the internet. They are also wishing the best of luck for their competitors.
“As the telco which pioneered Free FB for the world, we are flattered and honored that our competitors have chosen to follow the lead we have set. We wish to thank them for the compliment and wish them the best of luck. More people on the internet is good for the Philippines and our ecosystem,” Globe said.
On the other hand, Smart announced their free internet service for Smart subscribers Friday, September 26, 2014. It includes 30 mb free mobile internet access daily. It’s minimum speed is 12 kbps.

With this, both Smart and Globe subscribers can now access the internet by only using their mobiles. A great help, indeed.
