Derek Ramsay is still this years host for the second season of The Amazing Race Philippines. With it, he admitted that life is really like a race. His legal fight for his estranged wife by which, their 11 year old son is also affected.
Trying to be strong, he said that he just consider this one as a trial in his life. After which, life won’t be more exciting if this did not happen. If life is perfect, it won’t sound exciting. Added to it is the fact that life will be sweeter with failures.
“Life is filled with ups and downs. It’s like a race. It’s not whether you come up on top, it’s how you run this race. For me, what’s important is that you keep moving forward,” he said.
He also considered the fact that he is fighting with a woman, with it, he wants to show some respect. He also said that his patience was being tested because of this scenario. But then, he will not say any negative thing towards his estranged wife. After all, she’s still a woman. For him, it really matters. Derek said it in his interview at Pep.ph.
He is also giving more importance to their 11 year old son. Like how he was raised by his father, he also wants his son to look at him as his best friend.
“If I can have my son look at me the way I look at my father, puwede na akong mamatay, masaya na ako nun. My dad’s my best friend. I want my son to look at me as his best friend,” he stated.
Actually, Derek is having that hard time to cope up with his son. In fact, he just seen his child 4 times after he knew about him last 2011. He also believes that it’s not his son who wrote the letter against him.
