Alert Level 3 Raised Over Mayon Volcano After It Turned Red

People form around the foot of the perfect-coned Mt. Mayon evacuated after the it turned red. With this, authorities warns people to the possible eruption of the volcano.

Mt. Mayon is actually known for it’s perfect cone shape. It is located in the province of Albay. It already erupted for 47 times since 1616. But still, it maintained it’s perfect coned shape. This last erupted last 2013.

This one is another unusual activity shown by the said volcano. With it, it had actually evacuated more than 12, 000 people in the place as preparation for the possible eruption.  This one is based on Manila Bulletin.

According to Renato Solidum, head of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), “We are now raising the alert status of Mayon Volcano from alert level 2 to 3.” He said it on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.

The evacuees are set to be housed for  a while in their temporary shelter. This will exactly last as long as 3 months. They will be moved to safer sides if the Mayon Volcano will erupt.

They will also be a no-go area to prevent people from coming home while the alert level is still raised.

If there would be a major eruption, it is not expected to impact the country’s farm output with the mostly subsistence farmers which is just around the volcano. In addition, there’s no major industry in the said area. However, it could boost the tourism in the country especially in the said place.

But then, after all, let’s just pray for people there to be safe no matter what happened. Perhaps, their life and safety is still the most important thing.
