Daniel Padilla Drafted by AMA Titans in the PBA D-League

Kapamilya heartthrob and one of the country’s most popular young star, Daniel Padilla was drafted by the AMA Titans, one of the members of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Developmental League (D-League) during the official 2014 PBA D-League Draft held on Monday, September 15, 2014.

The 19-year-old singer and actor, Daniel Padilla was drafted in the 15th Round of the draft, he wast the lone pick in the 15th round of the draft, after the league’s 11 other teams elected to pass.

The report of Daniel Padilla being included in the PBA D-League Draft was confirmed by tournament director Eric Castro who noted that Daniel Padilla is eligible to play for the AMA Titans since he is enrolled at the school aside from being an official endorser.

Daniel Padilla was also surprised with the news of his inclusion in the PBA D-League Draft, the young actor was not part of the 153 players who applied for the PBA D-League Draft.

Although Daniel Padilla’s name was not included in the list of those who submitted for the draft, the AMA Titans invoked its right as a school-based team to sign a player who hasn’t applied for the draft.

If Daniel Padilla will be playing with AMA in the PBA D-League, he will the second showbiz personality who will try to make an attempt in the PBA D-League, after fellow Kapamilya star Gerald Anderson’s dream of playing for the NLEX squad failed to materialize.

Filipino-Tongan big man Moala Tautuaa was the top pick of the draft, selected No. 1 by Cagayan Valley, during the PBA D-League Draft Day held Libis, Quezon City.
