The “Blacked Eye Peas” member apl.de.ap, whose real name is Allan Pineda Lindo, will be returning as one of the coaches of “The Voice Of The Philippines” season two along with Sarah Geronimo, Lea Salonga and Bamboo Manalac.
The Filipino-American rapper is seen posing with his fellow coaches on photos posted in the official Instagram account of the singing competition. The photo confirms that apl.de.ap signed up as a coach.
The last edition of the show “The Voice Kids”, where the 9-year-old Lyca Gairanod was named as the grand champion, only had three coaches. Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo Manalac returned also as mentors.
Last monday, the Tony award-winning singer Lea Salonga wroete on its official Twitter account that they are set to shoot the Blind Auditions. However, she did not reveal the exact date.
“Malapit na… malapit na malapit na kaming mag-tape ng Blind Auditions! EXCITING!!! @TheVoiceABSCBN @Bamboomusiclive @apldeap @JustSarahG,” she wrote on a post.
“The Voice of The Philippines” first season’s grand winner is Mitoy Vonting, making Lea Salonga as the first winning coach in the top-rating singing show.
It was also announced that Luis Manzano and Toni Gonzaga will return as the hosts while Robi Domingo and Alex Gonzaga will come back as “V-reporters”.
The much-awaited “The Voice of the Philippines” second season is set to premiere later this year.
