Gilas Pilipinas’ Andray Blatche Suffers from Knee Injury

Gilas Pilipinas key player Andray Blatche reveals that he suffered from a minor knee injury during their game against Croatia by which they accumulated their first defeat.

The 38-year-old Filipino-American basketball player who played for NBA’s Brooklyn Nets revealed to the Philippine media that he twisted his right knee which caused him to limp to the bench.

According to him, his trainers then rushed to him to apply ice on his injured knee. The Gilas Pilipinas powerhouse player then returned in the second half but now sported with a knee wrap.

Although he is suffering from pain, Andray Blatche noted that he is willing to do anything just to help his team. Gilas Pilipinas is set to face Greece on its second match on Monday morning, September 1. 2014 (Philippine Time).

The close fight between Gilas Pilipinas and Croatia which gave them a three-point advantage (78-81) marked as a turning point among the members of the Philippine National Basketball Team.

During his sideline interview, Andray Blatche told the press that he is thankful for the outstanding performance of Gilas Pilipinas during the match despite they failed to conquer the European team.

Andray Blatche was all praise to all the members of Gilas Pilipinas especially to Jeff Chan who reigned during the highly-coveted match which took place at the Palacio Municipal de Deportes San Pablo in Seville, Spain on Saturday.
