Aside from celebrities, government officials also participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Indeed, many celebrities as well as government officials have already did the challenge and give donations to the ALS Association afterwards.
This time, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas did the said challenge. He is the recent government official that have done the said challenge.
Roxas was nominated by ABS-CBN News anchor Doris Bigornia.
Before doing the challenge, he first give the challenge the three other national officials from finance, public works and education.
Before the cold water was drenched to him, he first said this, “Doris, bati pa rin tayo.”

In response to the challenge of Roxas, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima also did the challenge. The water was drenched by him and then he nominated 6 other people. He dumped two ice buckets on his head.
seems that celebrities as well as government officials are also their ways to help in promoting awareness to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association in the United States (ALS). At the same time, they are also donating for the research of the said disease.
With the help of both local and foreign celebrities and individuals, the donations already reached almost $90 million in just a span of 1 month since it was released.
