An unfortunate incident happened to a man who was one of the commuter in Australia’s train. His leg was trapped between a carriage and platform, the Australians or Aussie came to the rescue and their efforts caught the world’s attention as an example of “people power.”

The incident happened on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 according to some major news network not only in Australia but also to various news media organization who reported the incident showcasing the Australian version of People Power.
The victim was boarding in the Western Australian city of Perth when he slipped and became jammed in the 5-cm (2-inch) gap between the carriage and the station as revealed by operator of Transperth on their official statement.
Right after the personnel noticed the incident, they initially told all passengers to move to the opposite side of the train as they hope that the weight would shift it away from the victim’s leg, who was only identified with his first name as Nic.
The first attempt of the personnel and passengers who were present failed, the staff told commuters to get off the train and about 50 or more passengers lined up in a row along the platform to tilt the carriage away from the man so he could be lifted out.
The successful gestures of the Australians and the staff were applauded not only the Australian media but with international news media that reported the incident. The effort of all the passengers were not in vain as they were able to rescue the man who was trapped as they came together as a community.
