Filipina With Down Syndrome Was Honored During Dinner At The White House (Video)

17 year old Brina Kei Maxino was invited in the White House Special Olympic Dinner on Thursday night. President Obama invited her to recognize her participation in the Olympic Special Summit.

She is one of President’s Obama’s guest at the White House Special Olympics Dinner at the White House.

This girl with down syndrome made history in the Philippines. She was the first Filipina with down syndrome who have received the President Obama’s honor.

President Obama recognized her historic participation at a recent Special Olympics Summit.

President Obama is really the one who recognized and called Brina’s name in the public. According to his speech. Brina was just 16 years old at that moment. She was the first Filipina and the first teenager with a down syndrome to do it.

Although Brina is making history now, it was really far different from the time she was born 17 years ago. In fact, her doctor and therapist had a very low expectations for her. While her psychologist thought that Brina would take a hard time finishing grade school.

Brina did not let this happen. She really strive hard and did not give up. As of this moment, she was already in her 4th year as a high school student. She even passed every level without having a failing grade.

Brina gave a speech when she received the recognition from the President. According to her, in the Philippines, people like her was bullied and people are afraid of them.

She also say her gratitude to President Obama for giving her such recognition.

Indeed, Brina had just proven that no one could really be deprived for anything. Like all people in the world, they too deserve respect. Her story is really an inspiration for everybody.
