One of the country’s major television networks GMA issued an official statement after their artist Aljur Abrenica filed a complaint against them to withdraw his exclusive contract which is supposed to end in 2015.

It was July 24, 2014 when Aljur Abrenica went to the Quezon City Hall of Justice with his lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacia and filed a Judicial Confirmation of Rescission of Contract against his home network of seven years.
According to the complaint, GMA Network has failed to give respect and importance to the career of the 24-year-old actor. The network required also Aljur Abrenica to work although he was not feeling well which affected his work.
GMA Network received the complaint of Aljur Abrenica yesterday July 28, 2014, and the network said that they will review it and they will answer it in court.
The network called also the indecent as “Unfortunate”, saying that they have invested much on Aljur Abrenica, whom they considered as one of their prime artists.
GMA talent has also given Aljur Abrenica a lot of opportunities since he started his showbiz career. He was also given numerous TV projects and major endorsements by the network.
Below is the official statement of GMA network which was sent to PEP:
“GMA Network received yesterday the complaint filed by Aljur Abrenica for the rescission of his Management Contract and exclusive Network Agreement.Our lawyers will review this and answer accordingly in court.”
“The Network considers this incident very unfortunate because GMA has greatly invested on Aljur, who is one of its prime artists. GMA Artist Center has not been remiss in its duties as his manager practising a consultative style of management with Aljur.”
“With his best interest in mind, this practice has accorded him every opportunity to personally (–foul word(s) removed–)s all offers to reach a mutual agreement. GMA Network has equally given him projects, some of which were lead roles in the Network’s primetime programs.”
“Aljur is a home-grown GMA talent who was discovered through the reality search, StarStruck in 2007. Since then, he has been given numerous projects including Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?, All My Life, The Last Prince, Machete, Coffee Prince, Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko, and Kambal Sirena.”
“Likewise, GMA Network and GMA Artist Center have arranged major endorsements and corporate partnerships for Aljur.”
