President PNoy cited some achievements of his administration during his Fifth State of the Nation Address on Monday afternoon, July 28, 2014. The President showcased some testimonials of those who were benefited with his pro-poor programs.
Government agencies such as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority through the leadership of TESDA head former CIVAC Representative Joel Villanueva. Aside from TESDA, the PNP, DepEd and DPWH were commended by President PNoy during his speech as testimonials of benificiaries were highlighted during the President’s SONA.
Ordinary people who were mentioned by President Aquino during his fifth SONA on Monday includes former jeepney barker-turned TESDA scholar, Marc Joseph Escora from Bacolod City. Another TESDA scholar, Jonnalyn Navarosa from Santa Rosa, Laguna also aired her testimonial.
Aside from the two TESDA scholars, the President also showcased and commended the bravery of some policewomen who engaged members of the Martilyo Gang at the SM Mall of Asia.
A testimony of an informal settler Gina Lastrado was also played during the President’s SONA while an Aeta leader and Alternative Learning System (ALS) learner also thanked the President as she gave her testimonial during the Pres. PNoy’s SONA.
