The kapamilya actress Julia Montes said that the top-rating series “Ikaw Lamang” which also stars Kim Chiu, Coco Martin and Jake Cuenca helped her improve to become a better actress.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the 19-year-old actress admitted that she felt nervous even before the show started since she is thinking on how could she level her acting skills with the veteran actors and actresses.
“Bago pa man magsimula ‘yung ‘Ikaw Lamang’ sobrang kinakabahan ako kasi iniisip ko kung kaya ko bang makipagsabayan sa mga bigating artistang kasama sa cast,” she said.
Although it was not easy for her at first, the teen star said that the casts helped her so she could portray her role as Mona in the series, adding that it made her a better actress.
“Pero nawala agad ang takot ko dahil lahat ng co-stars ko tinulungan akong mas mabigyang hustisya ang role ko bilang si Mona. Masasabi kong mas nahasa ako bilang isang aktres dahil sa kanila at sa show,” she continued.
The episode of “Ikaw Lamang” which was aired on Friday July 15, 2014 served as the last episode for Mona (Julia Montes), who was shot by a gun.
Moments after the episode was aired, netizens took the micro-blogging site Twitter to aired their dismay over the loss of Julia Montes’ character. The phrase “RIP Mona” dominated the trending topics locally and worldwide.
“Ikaw Lamang” still airs every weeknight on Primetime Bida after “Hawak Kamay”. The series will also have its book 2 that will be aired sometime on August.
