The latest typhoon to hit the Philippines, Bagyong Henry, was last spotted traversing Balintang Channel toward the eastern coast of Batanes, according to the latest weather bulletin released by the country’s weather bureau, PAGASA on early Tuesday morning, July 22, 2014.
Based upon the 5:00 AM weather bulletin released by PAGASA, Bagyong Henry was located at 280 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan, or at around 240 kilometers southeast of Basco, Batanes.
The tropical storm, Henry, the eighth typhoon to hit the Philippines maintained its maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 160 kph while moving northwest path at a pace of 24 kph.
PAGASA noted that Public Storm Signal No. 2 remains hoisted over the Batanes Group of Islands while Signal No. 1 is still up in Cagayan, Babuyan Group of Islands, and Calayan Group of Islands.
Bagyong Henry will affect the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley, as they will experience moderate to occasional heavy rains while the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will also experience monsoon rains.
All residents who lived in the above-mentioned areas are advised to be alert against possible flashfloods and landslides.
