The comedian-host Vhong Navarro has renewed his contract with the country’s leading television network ABS-CBN on Tuesday July 15, 2014. Vhong has been working with the network for more than 20 years already.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the “It’s Showtime” host said that he is very happy that the Kapamilya network has allowed him to renew his contract with them.
“Napakasarap ng pakiramdam dahil ang Kapamilya ko ay hindi ako iniwan, kumbaga mas lalo pang pinagtagal ang aming pagsasama. At ang aking Kapamilya network ay talaga namang sagad hanggang buto, ipinaparamdam talaga nila na isa kang Kapamilya,” he said.
Vhong Navarro started his career as a member of the dance group “Streetboys” before he was discovered by his manager Chito S. Roño who continues to manage him until now.
The 37-year-old actor hopes also for many projects hinting that he might appear in other ABS-CBN shows. He also wished that the hit noon-time show “It’s Showtime” will stay longer on air.
Vhong Navarro was also thankful that the network did not leave him despite that he was involved in a controversial incident early this year. He became a headline recently after he was mauled on January 22, 2014 in Taguig City by business man Cedric Lee and six others after he allegedly took advantaged on Deniece Cornejo.
Vhong Navarro has filed cases against them and on April, Cedric Lee and his accomplice were arrested by National Bureau of investigation (NBI) while Deniece Cornejo is currently in the custody of Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Quezon City.
