Suspension of Classes on July 16, 2014 Due to Typhoon Glenda Declared (Updated List)

Local Government Units (LGUs) and selected colleges and universities declares suspension of classes on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 due to Typhoon Glenda which continues to ravage the country particularly in Luzon.

Automatic Suspension Guidelines

Different localities in the Philippines prodded to suspend the classes since Monday, July 14, 2014  after Philippine weather bureau PAGASA raised storm signals in the areas struck by Bagyong Glenda particularly in Metro Manila.

Based upon the report of Philippine Daily Inquirer and Bomboradyo, Albay and Camarines Norte have raised State of Calamity due to the continuous devastation of Typhoon Glenda.

Typoon Glenda continues to intensify with 140 kph and gustiness up to 165 kph but there are no reported fatalities as of press time.

The Depart of Education (DepEd) earlier reminded the localities to abide on the guidelines regarding the suspension of classes.

DepEd noted that all levels; private or public must only be suspended if Storm Signal No.3 was declared while pre-school to high school levels’ classes must only be suspended after the issuance of Signals 1 and 2.
