SWS Survey Results: Senate & House Got Lowest Ratings Under Pres. Aquino

The Social Weather Stations (SWS) released the latest “satisfaction” survey results for both the House of Representative and the Philippine Senate. According to the survey results, the two chambers of the Philippine Legislative Branch of government got its lowest levels under the administration of Pres. Benigno Simeon Aquino III.

The satisfaction rating of the  Senate decreased from a “good” +33 in December 2013 to a “moderate” +26 in March 2014 while the House of Representative’s number dropped from +26 to +18.

Aside from the House of Representatives and the Philippine Senate’s ratings, SWS also released an individual results among members of both houses. House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte dropped his ratings from a “moderate” +16 to a “neutral” -1. Rep. Belmonte is considered as one of the closest ally of President Aquino.

Senate President Franklin Drilon also dropped its ratings although it is still “moderate,” the results showed that from +25, his ratings dropped to +17. The ratings of Sen. Drilon and Rep. Belmonte are their lowest so far during the Aquino administration.

The newest ratings released by SWS on Monday, July 7, 2014, also showed that the President’s Cabinet maintained its “good” rating of +20. Among the officials who were included in the latest survey of SWS, only the Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay’s score went up. His satisfaction rating increased from a “very good” +62 to an “excellent” +73.

The latest survey of SWS has sampling error margins of ±3 percent for national percentages and ±6 percent for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
