Zoren Legaspi has issued an official statement regarding his alleged possession of multiple tax identification numbers (TINs).

On Friday, June 7, 2014, the 40-year-old actor has appeared before the Department of Justice (DOJ) to submit his counter-affidavit with the petition to junk the P4.5 million tax evasion case filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
Zoren Legaspi, the husband of actress Carmina Villaroel was accompanied by his legal counsel Atty. Ricardo Ribo. The actor claimed that the BIR failed to recognize his retention tax for 2010 and 2012.
The actor-director told ABS-CBN News and other members of the press that his reported multiple TINS does not belong to him and were only used for “namesakes.” This was after his accountant Flora Capili revealed that he is possessing four tax identification numbers.
Zoren Legaspi also noted that he doesn’t want to evade correct payment of taxes and he also stressed to pay for any discrepancies prior for his failure to declare income tax returns for two years.
Flora Capili, the actor’s accountant previously revealed that Zoren Legaspi is possessing four tax identification numbers (TINs) and under the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC), possession of more than one TIN is prohibited because may used to evade correct payment of taxes.
Zoren Legaspi was summoned  by the Bureau of Internal Revenue for his under-declared tax payments for years 2010 and 2012 but he earlier noted that he is willing to cooperate for necessary investigation.
