Vilma Santos Denies Encouraging Son Luis Manzano to Join Politics

Actress-politician Vilma Santos denies the issues that she is encouraging her older son actor-host Luis Manzano to join politics saying that it was his own decision.

The former “Minute to Win it” host have been vocal about his plans on entering the politics on 2016 noting that he will study first in order to be qualified as a public servant.

In an interview with Pep.ph, the “Star for All Seasons” said that Luis Manzano did not use her name or her father Edu Manzano to work and because of that, she thinks that he has the quality of being a leader.

The current Batangas Governor admitted that she sees Luis Manzano has the drive of being a good leader because he always tends to help other people as long as she can and for her that is also important.

Asked if he encouraged him to run, Vilma Santos replied:  “I am not encouraging him na, ‘O, anak, tumakbo ka.’ Hindi, e. Sa kanya manggagaling ‘yan at siya ang magsisilbi at hindi biro yung ganitong… nakikita ninyo naman siguro ang trabaho ko.”

According to the 60-year-old multi-awarded actress, if Luis Manzano will pursue a political career, she believed that his traits will passed the qualities of being a good public servant.

However, Vilma Santos added that it would not be easy for him for he needs to do a lot of preparations especially that he comes from the showbiz industry and he should understand that he really needs to sacrifice.
