The 2014 Miss Teen Philippines candidates were presented to the media at the New World Makati Hotel after a seven-year hiatus. The candidates are composed of particularly strong field of young and smart teenage girls vying for the prestigious crown.
A total of 40 candidates from various parts of the country aged 13 to 18 were formally introduced to the media on Wednesday in a program hosted by TV actress-TV host and Miss Teen Philippines 2004 Stephanie Sol.
Presents during the introduction of the official Miss Teen Philippines candidates were the advisory council composed of TV5 primetime princess Jasmine Curtis-Smith, actress Ruffa Gutierrez, former Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman-Alcaraz, and other notable guests.
Some of the candidates who stood out during the introduction of candidates were candidates #1 Bianca Wilhelmina Willemsen from Cebu, #4 Julia Cassandra Cassal from Pasig, #13 Abby Gale Angel from Olongapo, #17 Princess Nicolas from Tarlac, #21 Kimberly Jacqueline Weber from Zambales, #26 Elizabeth Renee Scheer also from Cebu, #33 Alexa Amico Patriana from Cagayan de Oro and #35 Dana Loise Abbe Ledonio from Iloilo.
The winner of the Miss Teen Philippines 2014 will received a prize package worth an estimated P2.6 million, become a delegation to the Southeast Asian Youth Program, and the National Youth Parliament. She will also undergo the same training and preparations as the other members of the national team prior to their international travel.
The Miss Teen Philippines 2014 will become DepEd’s Ambassadress for Education, she will serve to inspire and actively engage the youth to value education while promoting the various DepEd youth-oriented priority programs.
The coronation night of the Miss Teen Philippines will be held this coming Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City. The grand coronation night will be aired on TV5 on Sunday at 9:30 PM.
