Laguna Governor ER Ejercito Leaves Capitol After Mayor Erap’s Visit

Governor ER Ejercito, the ousted Governor of Laguna Province left the provincial capitol on Friday, May 30, 2014 after his uncle, the former President and current mayo r of Manila, Mayor Erap Ejercito Estrada, visited the Governor in Laguna.

The former President, Erap Estrada made a statement to the supporters of Gov. ER Ejercito, he was quoted as saying “Payagan n’yo na po na isama ko at bumaba na ang inyong mahal na gobernador alang alang po sa kapayapaan at katahimikan ng ating lalawigan ng Laguna” he told the public.

The Governor of Laguna, Gov. ER Ejercito had remained in the Capitol for more than a week after the Commission on Election (Comelec) ordered him to stop down last May 21, 2014 due to campaign overspending.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) served the writ of execution at the Provincial Capitol installing new Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez on May 28, 2014.

The former Governor, Gov. ER Ejercito has also appealed to the Supreme Court, his appeal to nullify the Comelec’s decision is now pending at the country’s highest court.
