Atty. Levito Baligod, the former lawyer of several pork barrel scam whistleblowers married his girlfriend of nine months Marilou Galenzoga, a former Baybay, Leyte mayoralty candidate in a church wedding on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
Vice President Jejomar Binay was present during Baligod and Marilou Galenzoga nuptials who served as one of the principal sponsors. Former Chief Justice Reynato Puno was also present at the time.

According to Atty. Baligod, he decided to choose Binay as one of the principal sponsors because “he is like a mentor to her,” referring to his wife, Marilou Galenzoga.
Atty. Levito Baligod,43, is a widower to Marilyn Aldavaro who lost his first wife in February 2013 because of breast cancer.
Baligod noted that his wife Marilou Galenzoga was a regional chair of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), a coalition established by Vice President Jejomar Binay and former President-turned-Manila mayor Joseph Estrada amid the 2013 elections.
Atty. Levito Baligod stressed that there was no politics involved in choosing Binay as one of the sponsors despite of his affiliation with Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile whose being tagged in the controversial PDAF scam.
“My fiancé is the regional chair of UNA in Region VIII. Her relationship with Vice President Binay transcends politics. Kaya ‘di accurate na sabihin political move na ninong namin siya,” Baligod said, adding that he thought long and hard before including Binay’s name in their roster of sponsors.
