Actor Jake Cuenca finally broke his silence as he issued a statement about his new girlfriend Australian model Chanel Olive Thomas whom he “introduced” to the public via photo-sharing site, Instagram earlier.
The 26-year-old award-winning actor confirmed in an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com on Sunday, May 25, 2014 that he has been in a relationship with his non-showbiz girlfriend for two months already.
“We’re good, sobrang saya. It’s something very different kasi parang ang tagal ko nang hindi nagkaka-non-showbiz na girlfriend. May sarili kaming mundo. I value that. Inaalagaan ko talaga,” Jake Cuenca said.

According to Jake Cuenca, Chanel Olive Thomas was used to be part of “Australia’s Next Top Model,” but she is currently based here in the country.
Jake Cuenca noted that he met Chanel Olive Thomas through common friends while on a party.

“Naninibago siya. Hindi madali para sa kanya pero gaya ng sinabi ko dati, kapag gusto maraming paraan. Kapag ayaw maraming dahilan. Ginagawa ko talaga siya ng oras. I make time for it,” the Ikaw Lamang star said.
Jake Cuenca shared that he received a lot of comments online who have noticed the resemblance of his new girlfriend with actress Jessy Mendiola.
Jake Cuenca was quoted as saying, “Sabi nga nila pero sobrang iba sila. Very different personalities. She’s very different from Jessy,” he said.
The former Kapuso actor-turned-Kapamilya star has been vocal about his feelings for his “Maria Mercedes” leading lady recently. He even admitted courting the actress-model.
