TV host-turned-businessman Willie Revillame has issued an official statement amid rumors that he is wasting millions after being hooked in gambling.
In an article written by veteran entertainment columnist Ricky Lo for The Philippine Star, Willie Revillame did not deny that he has been going to casino lately.
“You know, I’ve been working so hard so I deserve to enjoy myself. I’m betting my own money. If I win, I can help more people; if I lose, I still continue to help people,” the 53-year-old former Kapamilya TV host said.
Willie Revillame also admitted that he has sold some of his properties. “Yes, it’s true, I have acquired so many properties at ibinibenta ko ‘yung hindi ko na napapakinabangan,” he said in a statement.
Ricky Lo noted that Willie Revillame has kept his private plane, his yacht and his mansion at Ayala Heights in Quezon City he bought from ABS-CBN Chairman Gabby Lopez and his “world-class” hotel in Tagaytay City.

“Kasi ‘di ba, whatever he does with his life, it’s his prerogative. He has worked hard for everything, for his wealth. So whatever he wants to do with that, we don’t have any right to judge or to say something bad about it because it’s his money,” his daughter Merryl Soriano said in response to the criticisms her father sustained.
Willie Revillame last appeared on television via TV5’s defunct noontime show “Wil Time Bigtime.”
Based upon the latest report, the game show mogul will return in TV within three months. The actor-TV host-turned-businessman is reportedly in talks to make comeback on Kapuso Network.
