The blockbuster arrival of US President Barack Obama for his two-day state visit in the Philippines continues to dominate as the hottest topic online.
US President Barack Obama, who arrived in Philippines on Monday, April 28, 2014 was disembarked from Air Force One at the AGES Aviation Center, Balagbag Ramp in Pasay City.
The arrival of the 52-year-old president of the United States of America was welcomed by Vice President Jejomar Binay, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Albert del Rosario , Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas and Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Cuicia.
Barack Obama, who came from Malaysia, Japan and South Korea as part of his week-long Asian tour is the 7th sitting US president to visit the Philippines. The last US president to visit the country was George Walker Bush in October 2003.
The US President and President Benigno Aquino III will be having a one-on-one meeting at the Music Room before they move to Aguinaldo State Dining Room for a bilateral meeting along with other officials.
According to Rappler, Barack Obama and President Aquino will discuss various topics including security cooperation, countries’ strategic partnership, deepening people-to-people ties, trade and investments and rehabilitation of areas affected by typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
Barack Obama will head to Hotel Sofitel where he is billeted and will return to the Malacañang palace at 7:45 for a state dinner.
