Philippine Basketball (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation (PBA) legend Robert Jaworski is reportedly in talks to return coaching in Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
According to Spin.ph, a source revealed that the legendary player is currently negotiating his return as the head coach of Barangay Ginebra Kings.
The rumors broke out after Barangay Ginebra abruptly booted out of the race for the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. The former MVP-turned-Philippine senator who was known for his “Never Say Die” spirit has been keeping communication with Ramon Ang, the president of San Miguel Corp.
“Confidential pa kasi ‘yung lahat. But there is an ongoing negotiation,” the source of Spin.ph said. “Wala pang definite, but there are negotiations.”
Meanwhile, the fans of Barangay Ginebra vented their frustrations via social media and social networking sites after having an “uncharacteristic” loss against Talk N’ Text Tropang Texters during the playoffs.
The fatal loss ended the race of Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup. Talk N’ Text Tropang Texters has defeated the Gin Kings with 97-84.
After accumulating a defeat against Talk N’ Text, Barangay Ginebra star player Mark Caguioa even blasted his teammates for lacking heart against their contender and seemed unaware on Gin Kings “Never Say Die” spirit.
“Parang ito ‘yung mga player ngayon na parang hindi alam ang history ng Ginebra. I don’t think they know kasi parang walang mga pake,” Mark Caguioa said.
However, the 68-year-old basketball hall of famer has yet to air any statement regarding his possibility to return coaching in Barangay Ginebra.
