Arrest Warrants Issued vs Lee & Cornejo for Serious Illegal Detention

Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) has issued arrest warrants against the mauling suspects of Vhong Navarro; controversial model Deniece Cornejo, businessman Cedric Lee and three others involved in connection with serious illegal detention case, a non-bailable offense filed by the actor-host.

The arrest warrants for serious illegal detention were issued by  Judge Paz Esperanza Cortes of the Taguig Regional Trail Court (RTC) Branch 271.

Aside from Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo, Taguig RTC also issued a warrant of arrests against Jed Fernandez, Simeon Raz Jr., and Ferdinand Guerrero.

According to the report of ABS-CBNnews, Chief Supt. Jose Erwin Villacorte of the Southern Police District stated that they received the arrest warrants at around 12 noon on Monday, April 21, 2014.

Chief Supt. Jose Erwin Villacorte  Vilalcorte refused to divulge any statement on why the two others accused in the case of Vhong Navarro, Bernice Lee and Jose Paulo Calma are not included on the arrest warrants issued by Taguig RTC.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila de Lima previously ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to arrest Cedric Lee and four others accused in the grave coercion case of Vhong Navarro who were not able to post bail.

Deniece Cornejo and Jed Fernandez, on the other hand were able to post a P12,000 bail. The government’s body for justice system last week summoned Cedric Lee and his company to answer his P194.47 million tax evasion case filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
