The Philippine national men’s football team registered its first victory under coach Thomas Dooley after dispatching Nepal, 3-nil, in The Philippine Azkals secured their first international victory under American coach Thomas Dooley after they defeated Nepal on Friday night in Qatar with the final score at 3-nil.

The Philippines vs. Nepal international friendly match is sanctioned by FIFA, the game was held at the Grand Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
Former US Men’s Soccer Team captain Thomas Dooley finally steered the national football squad after the team was defeated by Azerbaijan and scored a draw against Malaysia on theirs first two international friendly under his helm.
The Azkals featured fresh players inserted into the squad after the team missed some of its key players, Curt Dizon, Nick O’Donnel and Daizuke Sato were included in the team’s line-up.
Curt Dizon scored the first goal for the Philippine Azkals at around 15th minutes after Daizuke Sato found him sneaking behind the Nepalese backline and scored a goal for the Azkals.
Martin Steuble scored the second goal for the Azkals with a header after James Younghusband sent a cross to him when the Nepalese defender dropped on their offense. The Azkals scored a 2-nil advantage at the end of the first half.
The third goal of the Azkals came from Ruben Doctora who sank a goal at around 90th minute to seal the Azkals victory despite the fact that the Nepalese tried to change their offensive tactics but the Filipinos showed their intensity and captured the victory in front of jampacked Filipino fans in Qatar.
The 143rd-ranked Azkals, defeated the 159th-ranked Nepal for the second straight time after a 4-nil victory by the Filipinos in 2011. The Azkals next (–foul word(s) removed–)ignment will be against Qatar’s local club Al Ahli Sports Club on Monday.
