Three members of all-female pop group Mocha girls were hurt in a road accident in San Juan City on Saturday, March 29, 2014 involving three vehicles on the mishap.
Mae Dela Cerna, one of the members of the group confirmed in an interview with radio dzMM the road mishap they were involved. According to her, they were on their way home from a show in Timog when a p(–foul word(s) removed–)enger bus sideswiped the right side of their vehicle.
Mae Dela Cerna that the mishap occurred at around 2 a.m. along the EDSA corner Annapolis Treet. Dela Cerna, Sabrina Turner and Jho Ann Sotelo are among the victims who were rushed to the hospital after accumulating scratches and bruises.
Aside from Mae Dela Cerna, Sabrina Turner and Jho Anne Sotelo, Mocha Girls’ manager and driver Lord Byron Cristobal were also on board the vehicle when the road accident happened.
Based on the investigation conducted by the authorities, a Toyota Innova with plate number ZND 711 collided with the AC Trans bus driven by Sonny Samson which plunged with vehicle of the Mocha Girls.
According to the police, Pancho Gonzalez, the driver of the Toyota Innova seemed drunk at the time of the collision. The driver was also involved in another mishap in Greenhills.
“Sana po yung mga nagmamaneho ng lasing tumigil na… Kawawa naman po kaming nabibiktima. Paano kung mamatay kami? Paano na?” Mae Dela Cerna said to those who drive while drunk.
