Gilas Looks to Add Kiefer Ravena and Ray Parks in its Cadet Pool

Gilas Pilipinas National team is considering the possibility to add college stars Kiefer Ravena and Bobby Ray Parks in their cadet pool. The plan to include the second generation cagers Ravena and Parks in the Gilas cadet was bared by team manager Aboy Castro to Interaksyon.com.

“Kiefer practiced with us a few weeks ago when his schedule permitted him to,” Castro said. “As for Ray-Ray, we’ve considered inviting him to practice with us, possibly after the All-Star break.” (Statement from Interaksyon.com)

Both of the youngsters are part of the teams being controlled by business tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan as Ravena plays for Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP while Parks recently signed with NLEX road warriors.

The two highly-touted ballers will join other top amateur players of the country in the pool namely Garvo Lanete, Kevin Alas, Matt Ganuelas, Jake Pascual, and Ronald Pascual, who are also part for many time champion team NLEX in the D-League.

Kiefer Ravena and Bobby Parks are no stranger anymore in playing for the national team as they both suited up for Sinag Pilipinas and won gold in Southeast Asian Games in 2011 and 2013.

The Gilas Pilipinas cadet squad are tasked to represent the Philippines in various international competition such as the Southeast East Asian Games, SEABA and other international competitions. The team is also bannered by Gilas mainstay and naturalized player Marcus Douthit, one of the original member of the Gilas Pilipinas squad or the senior’s basketball team of the Philippines.
