Juan Manuel Marquez is set to return on the ring to fight against American boxer Mike Alvarado this coming May 17, 2014 at the Forum in Inglewood California.
The Top Rank Promotions headed by Bob Arum announced on Thursday about the highly anticipated bout between the Mexican Hall of Famer Juan Manual Marquez against American contender Mike Alvarado.
According to the Top Rank Promotions, the winner on the said bout will face the winner on the rematch of Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley this coming April 12, 2014 for the WBO Welterweight belt.
The 40-year-old Juan Manuel Marquez has not fought since losing a match against Timothy Bradley last October 2013 in the way of split decision. The four-division world champion will play his 13th fight at the Forum.
Juan Manuel Marquez and Mike Alvarado who came from defeats are expected to rage the night during their battle. Their fans and supporters are much more excited for the upcoming brawl.
Juan Manuel Marquez was known for his biggest knockout against Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao in December 8, 2012. On the other hand, Mike Alvarado previously lose his WBO 140-pound title after being defeated by Ruslan Provodnikov last year.
“Besides the fact that this is a tremendous fight between two exciting fighters, the thing I like most about it is the historical significance,” Bob Arum said in a press interview.
The two fighter have already started their respective training as they prepare for another night where champions collide.
