According to TIME Magazine, Makati City, the business capital of the Philippines and Pasig City, topped among 459 cities with at least 258 selfie-takers per 100,000 people.

“An examination of hundreds of thousands of selfies—the low-fi, self-shot photographs that are intensely popular among younger social media users—suggests that the city, part of metropolitan Manila and home to 500,000 people, produces more selfies per capita than any other city in the world,” Chris Wilson of TIME Magazine stated.

The study was conducted by the TIME with the aid of more than 400,000 photos shared on image-sharing site, Instagram with the term tagged “selfie.”

Aside from Makati and Pasig City which dominated as “Selfie Capital of the World,” the Queen City of the South, Cebu also landed on the 9th place with 99 selfie-takers per 100,000 people.

Meanwhile, the top 100 selfiest cities of the world also included other cities in the Philippines such as Baguio with 82 selfie-takers on 16th place, Quezon City with 44 selfie-takers which landed on the 59th place and Iloilo with 36 selfie-takers per 100,000 people landing on the 72nd spot.
