CCP Bobcats Regains Again in National Cheerleading Championships

Central Colleges of the Philippines displayed slower routine yet a near-flawless one as the Bobcats reigned again in the National Cheerleading Championships on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

CCP, which altered its routine with a slower approach this year to try and execute well, bested 19 other competing teams in this event including the reigning UAAP champion National University Pep squad to emerge as national champions anew.

“What we planned for the finals was just to try and hit the routine as perfect as possible kasialamko everyone magsusugal talaga- they will all aim for difficulty. Tama yung (–foul word(s) removed–)sment namin na ang matitirang team with the lesser number of errors will make it tonight,” CCP coach Arnold Villanueva said. (Statement from Spin.ph)

The Bobcats’ change of game plan proved to be a successful one as they earned a total of 324 points while committing four-point deduction from errors, compared to NU, which was inflicted with 27 points in penalties and deductions.

NCAA three-peat champion Perpetual Help on the other hand finished second with  318  points while settled third NU in the podium with 315.5 points.
