The 6’10 Lamizana is a mainstay in the Ivorian national team, which played in the 2010 FIBA World cup in Turkey and finished fourth in the 2011 and 2013 FIBA Africa men’s championships. Lamizana averaged 10.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocks for Ivory Coast during last year’s Fiba Africa championships.

Undrafted in the 2004 NBA draft, Lamizana has played overseas in the Chinese basketball (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation for Sichuan Blue Whales where he averaged 13.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists.

The 33-year old power forward is expected to provide an inside presence and played team ball for the Express while collaborating with veteran center Asi Taulava in the middle to power their Commissioner’s Cup campaign.

“Mr. Lito Alvarez was excited in hiring him and believes Herve’s energy and work ethic will help and inspire Air 21. He is unselfish, I think he is the perfect fit for the team,” said player agent Sheryl Reyes about the inbound import. (Statement from Spin.ph)

Herve Lamizana is expected to arrive in the country on Monday to join the team’s practice.
