Paul, who was sidelined since January 3, could suit up in the Clippers’ game against Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday (Monday PH time) as he is already having contact drills and shoot-around despite not having a full practice with the team for two weeks.

“He did some one-on-ones today at shootaround and looked pretty good, so I think he’s very close,” coach Doc Rivers said Wednesday. “I don’t think he’ll play Friday but he could play after that. He took contact today in one-on-ones, but it’s still not a 5-on-5.” (Statement from ESPNLosAngeles.com)

LA cancelled its  Thursday practice leaving the 6-foot guard to sit out in the team’s Friday game against Toronto but shall the seven-time all-star joins the Saturday build-up, Paul could be back in the Clips’ line up and make his target of playing in the NBA All-Star Games 2014 at New Orleans.

“The All-Star Game is in New Orleans, and that’s a part of me,” Paul said. “That’s where I played my very first All-Star Game, and anytime you have that opportunity, I’m not going to p(–foul word(s) removed–) it up, because it’s not guaranteed to happen next year.”(Statement from ESPNLosAngeles.com)
