NU, FEU Whip Rivals, Tighten Hold of 2nd, 4th Spot

NU Lady Bulldogs and FEU Lady Tams solidified their hold of the second and fourth spot with three games left in the elimination round as they clobbered respective foes in the UAAP Volleyball tournament on Sunday at the Filoil Flying V arena.

 Dindin Santiago scored 23 points with 13 kills as NU made short work of  University of the East Lady warriors, 25-12, 25-18, 25-18.

With the win the Lady Bulldogs improved to 10-1 record to stay within distant behind league-leading La Salle Lady Archers (11-0).

Shaya Adorado scored 12 markers to paced UE which remained winless after 11 games.

Meanwhile, Bernadeth Pons and Toni Basas connived for 22 points as the FEU thrashed the University of Sto Tomas Tigresses in straight sets, 25-24, 25-18, 25-18.

Sam Dawson and Mary Joy Palma also contributed nine hits each for the Lady Tamaraws, who improved to 6-5 card for a solo fourth.

Jem Gutierrez and Ria Meneses scored nine and eight points for the Tigresses, who fell to sixth spot with a 4-7 slate.
