With the win over the Portland yesterday, Brooks and the rest of the OKC secured the top spot with 36-10 record, besting the Blazers’ 33-13 and San Antonio Spurs’ 33-12, with four days left of the February 2 cutoff.

This is not the first All-star coaching stint of the young OKC mentor as he also coached for the 2012 edition of the NBA festivities, where he led Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul to a 152-149 victory over LeBron and company.

Brooks and the west coast finest will face the Eastern conference squad, which has Indiana’s Frank Vogel at the helm.

The sixth-year head coach also has the right to select the replacement of Kobe Bryant in the starting line up since the latter decided to skip the All-star main event.

In the chase for Bryant’s proxy are Paul, Damian Lillard and former Thunder Jeff Harden.
