Days get shorter for the Philippine Football Federation to name the new Philippine Azkals head coach after they set first week of February as the temporary date to make announcement.
Philippine Azkals manager Dan Palami confirmed that many candidates are willing to take-over the coaching job after PFF decided not to renew German coach Michael Weiss‘ contract which expired last January 15.
“Anyone of (the candidates) can actually be abgood candidate,” Palami said. “The next thing is to talk to them and hopefully before the end of January we are able to make a choice and have him come over by the first week of February,” Palami said.
This coaching change aimed to improve tha stand of the National team in the international tournaments. Now, Azkals prepare for the upcoming AFC Champions Cup, which was set this May, and was invited to play against Malaysia for a friendly match.
“It’s just a matter of the negotiations, once we get to talk to them, we will know how they will approach this challenge of putting the country as one of the top teams in Asia.”
PFF is also preparing thr profiles of the Azkals players in order for the new coach to review their skills and talents.
