Salud Says PBA, Sports 5 are in Talks to Air Both Games Live on 5

“Both TV5 and the Office of the Commissioner are looking for ways, and a reasonable timeline, within which we can show both games of the PBA live on (channel) 5.” Said PBA commisioner Chito Salud (Statement from Spin.ph)

PBA Chito Salud

This is the statement was made by  Salud on Thursday to guarantee the legions of PBA fans that they are already talking with Sports 5 in trying to air all the league games live on TV5.

The (–foul word(s) removed–)urance of the Commissioner came following the delayed telecast of the playoff game of Petron and Barako on Tuesday, which earned confusion and numerous complaints of dismayed PBA viewers.

Aside from Salud, Sports 5 head and Gilas coach Chot Reyes via his tweeter also implied that there are plan in providing better coverage of the PBA, which currently is on its crucial and exciting playoffs stretch now.

“I’d love to answer all questions re PBA telecast, but at this time all I can say is there’s a plan and reason for this. Sino ba na man ang ayaw ipalabas ng live ang PBA? Naiiintindihan ko po ang inyong galit at inaaako ko po lahat ng responsibilidad,”

But the negotiation to show both of the PBA games on stronger TV channel offers no timeline, thus, Salud asked for more patience from the fans while waiting it to materialize.

“So the fans should be patient. Efforts are being done already by the league and our broadcast partner. Ang puntiryanatindito for the fans is free TV na stronger in reach and signal, which is TV5.” He said. (Statement from Spin.ph)
